Exciting Hawke's Bay first-five Ihaia West is happy to bide his time after missing out on a Super Rugby contract for next season.
The 21-year-old back had a stellar ITM Cup earning him selection for the Maori All Blacks end of year tour.
However, provincial rugby will remain his focus until a Super Rugby call-up comes along.
"If it comes that would be awesome, most of the squads are pretty sorted with [first fives] they've mostly picked their squads so it might not come next year but it would definitely be awesome to play Super Rugby in the next couple of years," West says.
West and the Magpies are gearing up for tonight's ITM Cup Championship showdown against Tasman in Nelson.
