A pub at last in Kumara

While nothing's been officially said, word is that Kerrie and Mark Fitzgibbon can now consider themselves locals in Kumara.
The Christchurch business owners have been holidaying in the West Coast town for 40 years - they own property there - but now they've cemented their place in the town's history, and the town's hearts.
Because Kerrie and Mark have lovingly restored, and reopened, an historic pub in the town.
In its heyday Kumara boasted 41 licensed hotels - and plenty more that weren't - but the last pub closed four years ago, meaning the town has survived four years without a pub.
Campbell Live went to Kumara on Saturday as the first pints were pulled.
