In 2012 Campbell Live compared the lunchboxes in two classrooms in Auckland - one at a decile one school and one at a decile 10. 

We visited unannounced and asked the children to put their lunches on their desks. What happened next at the decile one school shocked us and you - most had no lunch at all.
Two years on we ask why children are still going hungry, and we enlist the support of some of New Zealand's most famous chefs to help. 

Next Friday, the Campbell Live team will be hosting another Lunchbox Day - with your help last time, we ended up raising more than $500,000, every cent of which has been spent on food, socks, shoes and jackets for children who really need them. 

This year there is one other option for getting involved - if you don't want to donate money or food, you can go to Whitcoulls and buy The Great New Zealand Cookbook. The book is full of great Kiwi recipes; it is essential for the New Zealand cook's kitchen or a gift for a loved one.

All next week we'll be bringing you cheap and easy recipes from the book, and for every book sold from Whitcoulls over the next week until Father's Day, $5 will go to KidsCan.
