Kiwi companies recruiting foreign workers for Christchurch rebuild

Yesterday the Government announced it would be prioritising Kiwi jobs for New Zealanders – good news, given that unemployment is at 7.3 percent.
But, it’s been more than two years since Christchurch was rocked by the 7.1 magnitude quake and the rebuild is already well underway – so who’s doing it?
Tonight, Campbell Live begins a series looking at New Zealand’s employment industry.
It’s no secret that there is a skill shortage in Christchurch. But the jobs which need filling immediately, have been – and not by New Zealanders.
So is the Government’s latest announcement too little, too late?
