Locals blast 'filthy' freedom campers

Most of us know them as campervans, but there are those New Zealanders who live around our tourist spots, who prefer to call them names like road maggots, land lice, crapper vans or happy crappers.
There's a theme there: Young tourists coming to see our clean, green New Zealand wilderness, parking up anywhere and using the side of the road as a toilet.
And as Whena Owen found out, with the holiday season approaching, it's got so bad in some lakeside areas, locals won't go there.
