Wellington Rugby will be holding a press conference following the cancellation of disgraced Lions player Losi Filipo's contract.
Mr Filipo, 18, was given a discharge without conviction in relation to serious assaults on four people in October last year.
That caused outrage amongst the community and pressure on the Wellington Lions to react.
In a statement late this afternoon, the Wellington Rugby said Mr Filipo and the organisation had "mutually agreed" to terminate the contract.
