Two teenagers have been charged over violent protests in Sydney, as police brace for more potential violence this weekend over controversial anti-Islam film, Innocence of Muslims.

The pair, aged 16 and 19, was arrested yesterday and is accused of numerous offences, including assaulting police during demonstrations last Saturday.

Superintendent Mark Walton says police can't say how many more people will be arrested because investigations are ongoing.

“There’s a lot of product, and I have 20 detectives that are working through that product identifying offences and working through things like search warrants and pulling that evidence together,” he says. “It’s not a simple process.”
