Ulu Tuipulotu is 26 and at 340kg is one of Australia's heaviest men.

He's been battling to shed weight for 10 years and knows time is running out.

Mr Tuipulotu is 26 and, at 345kg, is Australia's heaviest man. If he doesn't lose weight he could die. He's tried everything to no avail. Now he's trying a hypnotherapy weight loss technique.

With cameras rolling, Mr Tuipulotu fronted the media to help promote a hypnotherapy weight loss technique, in a desperate last-ditch attempt to save his life.

"Hypnosis is about getting somebody into a relaxed state of mind, and then giving them positive suggestions, like drink more water, drink more water; the more you drink the more you shrink," says clinical hypnotherapist Mark Stephens.

In 2004 as a 16-year-old, doctors first tried to tackle his weight.

After trying every weight loss programme, potions and powder, the sad story remains the same.

"I just eat too much," he says. "I love food."

He blames an obsession with playing computer games and always being hungry. At 26 he admits his luck is about to run out.

"Do or die is the word," he says.

"He'll absolutely lose the weight," says Mr Stephens. "I'll make sure of it. I'm working all the way until he reaches his goals to shed 225kg and get down to a weight of 100kg to 120kg."

It's a huge ask, particularly as Mr Tuipulota wants to lose two-thirds of his bodyweight by the end of the year.
