A koala joey is making headlines after being photographed cuddling his mum while she underwent surgery.
Phantom and his mum Lizzy were hit by a car west of Brisbane and while Phantom escaped serious injury, Lizzy suffered face trauma and a collapsed lung.
Too young to leave her side, Phantom clung to his mother throughout her entire operation.
"Lizzy is now on antiobiotics and is receiving plenty of TLC from the vet team and six-month-old Phantom," Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital wrote on Facebook.
The hospital, which has treated around 58,000 native wildlife patients to date is using the pair as an example of the kind of patients they treat and calling for donations.
Both Lizzy and Phantom are said to be doing well.
