A Florida woman's revenge on her boyfriend went terribly awry when she set fire to what she thought was his car. It wasn't.

Carmen Chamblee, 19, was arrested for the inflammatory attempt at vengeance, and has been charged with second-degree arson.

The unwitting owner of the very charred Honda Civic told local media he had no idea who she was.

Thomas Jennings was alerted to the fiery situation by his roommate. He came out of his house to see his car ablaze.

Chamblee reportedly put a rag in the car's gas tank and set it on fire. She may also have used flammable liquid to spread the flames.

The incident, similar to a case of mistaken identity in the film The Big Lebowski, was caught on a surveillance camera outside Mr Jennings' home.
