Four years on from the Samoa tsunami

It was just before 7am on September 29 when two huge earthquakes struck off the southern coast of Samoa. Within minutes a 4.5 metre tsunami hit the southern coast of Samoa and America Samoa, and Tonga.

About 143 people were killed and 4000 were left homeless by the waves.

Since the tsunami, families have moved inland or to higher ground; their kids refuse to go back to the beaches where their young friends died.

Four years on they're still recovering from the events of that day.
