One of the United Kingdom's tallest and most unusual pieces of public art has been officially opened.

Two huge horse head sculptures, weighing more than 300 tonnes each, are creating a spectacle above the Forth and Clyde Canal in Scotland.

'The Kelpies', as they it's known, is a public art and visitor attraction created by artist Andy Scott.

They were inspired by the tradition of working horses in Scotland which used to pull barges along canals and worked in the fields where 'The Kelpies' now stand.

They tower more than 30m into the air.
