Former Home and Away actor Martin Lynes has faced court on the New South Wales central coast over sexual assault charges alleged to have taken place on February 29.

The 48-year-old didn't enter a plea when he appeared in the Wyong Court today and his lawyer Rob Locker says he will be fighting the charges.

Lynes is accused of nine offences related to the alleged attack on a woman in his Bateau Bay home, including having sexual intercourse without consent, assault with an act of indecency, four counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and three counts of common assault.

Police say the attack happened after a dispute between the pair turned ugly. Afterwards, the woman was taken to Gosford Hospital for treatment before being discharged the next day, police say.

Lynes was arrested and charged on March 1, before appearing in court and being granted conditional bail on the same day.
