Mass murder in remote Chinese village

Chinese police have arrested a 27-year-old man suspected of killing 19 people in the south of the country.

It's one of the worst cases of mass murder by an individual in modern Chinese history.

Yang Qingpei was arrested in Kunming, about 200km from the scene of the murders in Yema, a remote village in Yunnan province.

The victims included three children, and were from six different families. The youngest was three and the oldest 72.

Their bodies were discovered in their homes.

Local police say the killings are not believed to be linked to terrorism.
