A four-storey apartment building has partially collapsed in New York, as superstorm Sandy bears down on New York City with extreme force.
The building, near the intersection of 14th Street and Eighth Avenue in Chelsea, has had the entire frontage of its upper two storeys blown off.
The New York Fire Department is responding to the collapse, and says no one was injured or trapped.
Fast food chain Muscle Maker Grill has a store on the building’s ground floor.
