Poland is to challenge a 2014 court decision not to extradite Oscar-winning filmmaker Roman Polanski to the United States.
The US wants to try 82 year old Polanski on charges including rape of a 13 year old girl in 1977.
He had pleaded guilty to unlawful sex with a minor but fled to Europe the day before his sentencing.
A Polish court declined to uphold the extradition because of a lack of evidence but Poland's new conservative ruling party is to re-open the case.
Polanski, a holocaust survivor, has won Academy Awards for several films including The Pianist and Chinatown.
