Venezuela's President has been forced to flee a political rally after being surrounded by a crowd of angry protesters yelling that they were hungry.
Scores of people banged on pots and jeered President Nicolas Maduro during a visit to inspect state housing projects.
At one point the unpopular leader tried to calm the protestors, only to be surrounded by the furious crowd.
"The people loathe him and last night they made that very clear with the pots-and-pans protest," said opposition leader Henrique Capriles.
More than 30 protestors were briefly detained for heckling.
The government later released a video showing Mr Maduro being cheered in Margarita, claiming the videos of the President being heckled were "manipulated by the right-wing".
