A skydiver in the United States has made history by jumping from a plane without a parachute to land in a net.

Forty-two-year-old Luke Aikins has more than 18,000 dives under his belt, and decided to take the stunt to the next level.

He jumped from a height of 7620 metres, freefalling for more than two minutes to land in a 30-metre by 30-metre wide net.

His wife and four-year-old son were there to greet him once he reached the ground safely.
