London bus drivers are appealing for someone to adopt a lonely dog that was left on a city bus this week.

The driver of the 158 to Stratford found the staffordshire bull terrier sitting alone on the bus when it got to the end of the line.

The dog wouldn't get off, so staff fed and comforted him overnight until he was collected by animal welfare.

Bus depot staff member Ricky Hatton posted a picture of the dog, nicknamed "Buster", in the hope a new home could be found.

"When I arrived around 6:30am he'd been there all night. Very scared, but not aggressive," he told Sky News.

"I gave him food, water and my body-warmer."

"(He) seemed in shock. I'm hoping he's found a new loving home."
