Pokémon Go has been downloaded on millions of phones across the world since debuting last week - but police say thieves are using the scavenger hunt to target players.
The clash between fantasy and reality became a nightmare for some victims in Missouri, after they were lured to locations using the new Pokémon app - hoping to find lovable pocket-sized monsters.
But police say they were robbed at gunpoint by a gang of teenagers instead, with the teens now facing armed robbery charges.
Pokémon Go is a game whereby players find and catch Pokémon in their neighbourhoods, and since being released the app has already risen to No. 1 on Google Play and Apple's App Store.
It is also being credited for getting people off their couches and outside.
You may notice a lot more people looking down on their phones while swiping up - but police are urging users to accompany children playing the game after the robbery reports.
