An American family visiting the zoo got the fright of their lives when a 220kg gorilla charged their three-year-old girl, cracking the glass designed to protect them.
As her dad filmed the silverbacks at the Nebraska zoo, you can see in the reflection the young girl beating her chest like a gorilla.
Then, one of the creatures runs toward them. It leaps up, cracking the glass and sends the family running.
A zookeeper told Chicago’s ABC 7 it’s normal behaviour for the gorilla and he was just trying to establish dominance.
The windows are triple-layered, and the ape only shattered the first later. The zookeeper says the family was never in any danger.
