Video: Prince Harry can wait to be king

Prince Harry has dashed the hopes of his fans wanting a red-headed king, telling a child it "probably" won't happen.

The fifth in line to the throne, Harry was visiting Lambs Lane Primary School in Berkshire promoting the Invictus Games when a precocious nine-year-old named Tristan asked him the question everyone wanted answered.

"Are you ever going to be king?"

Perhaps a little taken aback by the directness of the query, Harry laughed replying: "That's the question everybody wanted, let's be honest".

"You'll be glad to know, probably not."

His answer probably wasn't the one Tristan wanted to hear, with his sadness clear to see.

"Oh, look at the disappointment -- I love that. I'm going to give you a high-five."

But Tristan later said all he wants is the best for Prince Harry, the Telegraph reports.

"I just want Prince Harry to do what he wants, what he really, really wants. I think it would be a fun experience for him to be king. I would love to see him be king."

The prince was at the school as part of a special episode of Sky Sports' Game Changers show dedicated to the Invictus Games.

Lambs Lane school integrates students with disabilities into it mainstream education programme.

The Games see wounded, injured or sick armed services personnel compete in Paralympic-type sports.

This year's Games in Orlando, Florida, will host 500 competitors from 15 countries and will compete in 10 sports including archery, cycling, indoor rowing, volleyball and wheelchair rugby.
