Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is no stranger to controversy - not least when he suggested a "great, great wall" be built between the United States and Mexico.

Now one artist has made the contentious wall a reality - although this one has been built around Mr Trump's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles.

While much smaller than the full-scale barrier Mr Trump proposes along the US-Mexico border, it still has all the necessary features - 'Keep Out' signs, barbed wire atop the concrete wall, and a smattering of US flags.

The 15cm replica was imagined and made a reality by a US street artist, garnering plenty of attention from bemused visitors and gaining more than 16,000 likes on his Instagram account.

The artist, who calls himself Plastic Jesus, told the BBC he "wanted to create a piece that drew attention to [Mr Trump's] potential policies".

"I knew this week was the Republican Convention and I suppose I was capitalising on the momentum of the convention," he said.

Donald Trump's star came a result of the success of The Apprentice in 2007. It is the 2327th on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

It's not clear who paid for this wall.
