Coldplay paid tribute to rap legend Adam Yauch by performing the Beastie Boys' hit ‘(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party!)’ in concert.

Just hours after news of Yauch's tragic death broke, the band performed an acoustic rendition of the hip-hop classic at the Hollywood Bowl on Friday for a star-studded audience including Zach Braff, Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, Vanessa Hudgens and Gwen Stefani.

Frontman Chris Martin ended the track by singing, "We're sending all our love to the Beastie Boys."

The Red Hot Chili Peppers also dedicated their New Jersey concert on Friday to the late rapper, with singer Anthony Kiedis donning a homemade T-shirt with Yauch's nickname MCA written across it.

Kiedis told the crowd, "We lost a good man today. He left the world a lot of beauty. I hope you carry that flame. Adam was for real."

The band's set also featured covers of Beastie Boys' ‘Gratitude’ and ‘So What'cha Want’.

The music world was plunged into mourning when Yauch died at the age of 47 after losing his three-year cancer battle.
