I have a huge soft spot for westerns and the whole idea of a Sergio Leone-inspired pavlova-flavoured western shot right here in New Zealand just fills me with joy.
The R13 premise sees "The Man", who shall remain nameless, murder a few folk in cold blood and drag off poor pretty Isabella to have his wicked way.
Rather fortunately for Isabella, "performance issues" get in the way of that wicked way, and The Man sets out to find himself a cure, a posse on his trail and a kind of love story in the offing.
Apart from the odd dodgy accent and a few obvious reminders of the low budget, Good For Nothing manages to feel both fresh and reverential, and brimming over with heart and soul. I just couldn't help falling for it.
