Justin Bieber’s hit lyrics “Baby, baby, baby ohhh” took on new meaning yesterday, after YouTube videos of the singer were hacked, redirecting users to porn sites.
The 16-year-old pop star was the sole target of the attack, with abusive messages and banner messages exclaiming the singer was dead appearing under clips.
The prank lasted around two hours, according to The Telegraph, before Google took action to fix the error.
Hackers were able to insert computer code into YouTube (known as cross-site scripting), temporarily redirecting viewers of Bieber videos to explicit sites, Google spokesperson Graham Cluley told BBC News.
Bieber has become the easy target of internet pranks, with users of the infamous net forum 4Chan encouraged to search for “Justin Bieber Syphilis”, making the phrase a top trending topic on Google.
Internet rumours have also circulated about Bieber in recent months claiming everything from the grim to the bizarre.
Bieber had to confirm last month that he was in fact not dead. “I had to check on this one... but it turns out I’m alive,” he posted on his Twitter account.
The Canadian singer also dispelled rumours that his mum was to pose for Playboy and that he was the son of cult action hero Chuck Norris.
