Kung Fu Panda 2 review

Po the kung fu panda is back. Stairs are still his enemy, and he's still fond of a good feed.

He's also facing off against some bad guys, well one in particular.

Who knew an albino peacock could be so scary?

Lord Shen, the nasty peacock, gets his scariness in part from the brilliant Gary Oldman who voices him, and he's on a mission to rule all of China.

Of course Po, Tigress and their kung fu mates have something to say about that.

Complicating matters somewhat, Po's past presents itself and he goes on a journey of self-discovery uncovering something surprising things about his panda past.

Kung Fu Panda 2 feels refreshing for two reasons.

Clocking in at a perfect one hour 30 minutes, it’s not too long for the shorter concentration spans of the little folk, and the animation I loved in the first outing goes to another level altogether, making the most it can of the 3D.

Welcome back Po, it was good to see you.

Four stars.
