Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol review

Tom Cruise is back, on another Mission Impossible.

If we choose to accept it, that mission will include that iconic theme tune.

We can't go without the obligatory hot chick catfight, some crazy car chases, and men fighting each other like all the time.

But one thing we must have above all else? Lots and lots of Tom Cruise running, fast. A lot. Everywhere, all the time. Including down tall buildings..

Ethan Hunt is on the hunt for a nuclear warhead and a nutjob trying to start world war three.

Thankfully he had the good sense this time to take Simon Pegg along for the ride for some light relief for us all.

If all you're after is a mindless entertaining action flick to distract you from the fact you haven’t even started your Christmas shopping, then Ghost Protocol should fit the bill nicely.

The story itself plays out unremarkably and is not very memorable, but the action certainly holds the attention - the chase sequences and crazy climbing scenes are spectacular.

Three and a half stars.
