Age: 40
Height: 183cm
Event: Lone double trap

Gore’s Wilson is the lone double trap competitor in the 11-strong NZ shooting squad and he must make the most of this opportunity, given the discipline is being faded out of the international programme.

He began clay shooting as a youngster for his high school team in Invercargill and quickly developed a preference for double trap, debuting as a 24-year-old for New Zealand at international level.

The nine-time national champion represented New Zealand at the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games, failing to make the final.

The policeman has taken the last 12 months off duty to focus on the family farm and his shooting ambitions.
