All Blacks Sevens player Caleb Clarke has been ruled out of the Commonwealth Games.
Newshub understands the 19 year-old will have emergency surgery in Brisbane on Tuesday after suffering from appendicitis.
Clarke, who was 13th man for New Zealand is set to be sidelined for two to three weeks.
A source told Newshub that Clark was 'extremely gutted' at missing out on a shot at claiming gold.
