New Zealand's triathletes have failed to fire in the Commonwealth Games women's event, with all three finishing outside the top five.
Nicole van der Kaay was the best of the bunch, finishing one minute and 41 seconds off the pace in seventh, while Rebecca Spence came in 10th and medal hopeful Andrea Hewitt bombed out, finishing 13th.
"I'm really disappointed," Hewitt said post-race. "My swim wasn't up there and I let myself get pushed around. I got isolated on the bike and had to do a lot of work."
Both Spence and Hewitt were more than two minutes off the pace.
Bermuda's Flora Duffy won the event with a time of 56:50, 43 seconds ahead of English silver-medallist Jessica Learmonth.
Canadian Joanna Brown was third, another five seconds back.
