FRANCESCO BRUNI

Born: April 11, 1973 (47)

Role: Luna Rossa helmsman

America's Cup campaigns: 5

The America's Cup veteran is entering his fourth campaign with the Italian syndicate.

Bruni is one of the most complete and successful Italian sailors in history. In his staggering 30-year career, he has won seven world, five European and 15 Italian championships, while also representing Italy at three Olympics.

The 47-year-old started his America's Cup involvement in 2003, when his Luna Rossa lost in the challenger semi-finals off Auckland. Bruni also competed in the challenger series in 2007 and 2013 with Luna Rossa, before shifting to Artemis Racing at Bermuda 2017, but has yet to make the final dance.

Away from the Cup, the Palermo native has also won the 2010 Congressional Cup and the 2013 King Edward VII Gold Cup - two major international match-racing competitions.

The only thing Bruni needs to complete his remarkable career is an America's Cup victory.
