America's Cup 2021: Auckland breeze set to play ball with the highest wind forcasted for Team NZ v Luna Rossa showdown

Monday should bring a resumption to the America's Cup match, with the highest winds of the finale forecast for Waitemata Harbour.

With the ledger even at 3-3, Sunday was expected to be moving day in the battle for the 'Auld Mug', but a lack of breeze led to the postponement of both races, with winds not picking up enough to maintain the 6.5 knot threshold for racing.

But the outlook appears much better for Monday, with 12-15 knots expected in the afternoon.

Regatta Director Iain Murray has made the call that today's racing will take place on Course E, the same course as the first four races of the America's Cup regatta.

Maraetai Beach or Musick Point are the ideal viewing spots for those unable to get out on the water.

Races five and six were sailed on course A off Takapuna Beach, while the first four were on course E, which is close to Waiheke Island.

Course C is nicknamed the 'Stadium' course, which produced some of the best racing of the Christmas Cup and Prada Cup regattas.

The opening race of the day is scheduled for 4:15pm.
