Koster will make her second Games appearance eight years after capturing a silver medal at Glasgow and a decade after appearing at the 2012 London Olympics.
Husband Jason has also been selected in the NZ team, as he was at Glasgow, where he won bronze.
Born in South Africa, she took a break in her career to have a baby, but has returned in a heavier weight class at Birmingham and became the first NZ judoka to capture a medal at the Pan American-Oceania championships, with bronze.
