Birmingham Commonwealth Games: Swim star Lewis Clareburt delivers Tik Tok gold for Newshub Games team

Commonwealth Games star Lewis Clareburt is known for two things - his swim skills in the pool and social media skills on Tik Tok.

The Gold Coast Commonwealth Games bronze medallist gained online notoriety during last year's Tokyo Olympics, using the platform to relax away from the pressures of competition.

With the Birmingham Commonwealth Games fast approaching - due to begin Friday (NZ time) - Clareburt took time from his preparation to produce a quick shoutout to Newshub readers and viewers.

"We're by one of the canals," he said. "Most canals in the world - more than Venice actually - and we're here getting ready for the Commonwealth Games."
