Marvel Games producer Mike Jones has teased fans with the imminent announcement of console games.
While at San Diego Comic-Con to promote Marvel's digital offerings, a fan asked Jones of the company's plans regarding console games, and whether or not they are looking for partners to develop such games. Jones responded that they are indeed exploring their options, going further to say that there are a number of projects that are already underway.
Currently, much of the Marvel videogame offerings are confined to mobile experiences. Jones commented that while console games will obviously take greater time to develop and release, they are committed to approaching development in the correct way.
"We are very much taking a controlled, less-is-more, quality-focused, developer-focused strategy," Jones said of Marvel's approach to console gaming, according to Polygon.
While it is currently unknown what properties or versions of these Marvel will be working with, Jones says the announcements will likely be coming in 2016.
Marvel announced earlier this year their partnership with Telltale Games to produce a series of games.
