In perhaps the most bizarre marketing move in recent memory, Sega has posted a fictional DLC trailer for Sonic Generations that inserts Shia LaBeouf into one of the game's final scenes.
LaBeouf's now infamous motivational speech was published online earlier this year and became a viral hit, with countless memes making fun of the controversial actor's antics.
The above video appears on the official Sega-maintained Youtube channel and features both old and new Sonic needing motivation in their final fight with Dr Eggman.
Appearing alongside regular Sonic allies such as Tails, Knuckles and Amy Rose is LaBeouf, whose name is spelt incorrectly in the trailer title.
A series of clips from the video are spliced into the original Generations footage, with LaBeouf's speech proving the difference as both versions of Sonic are revived and rearing for battle.
Sonic Generations was released in 2011 to generally positive reviews.
