British actress Ruth Wilson felt deeply uncomfortable watching Emilia Clarke's topless scenes in hit fantasy drama Game Of Thrones, and fears the young star may have felt she had no choice but to strip off.
The Affair star is convinced women in Hollywood should be given more of a say over whether they take off their clothes for a part, and she cites Clarke's role as Daenerys Targaryen in the TV show as an example of a situation where a young inexperienced actress could feel like she has little choice about appearing nude.
Wilson says, "Women should have a choice and be allowed to express that choice if they don't want to get their breasts out. There's an assumption around it which I think is unfair.
"I saw the very first episode of Game of Thrones and I was like, 'Whoa!' I just felt for Emilia (Clarke) because she was just naked, topless the whole way through. I thought, that's her first job. I wonder how much choice she felt like she had."
