Real estate agent Bernadette Morrison and interior designer Jason Bonham will be judging The Block NZ: Villa Wars in 2015, TV3 has announced.
With their combined experience in real estate and interior design, the teams have a lot of work ahead of them in order to impress the judges, and ultimately the buying public.
Hosted by Mark Richardson with challenge host Shelley Ferguson, Morrison and Bonham will be judging the teams' work each week as they renovate four old villas to their former glory in The Block NZ: Villa Wars.
Bernadette Morrison has been in real estate for 11 years. She is recognised as a top-performing salesperson, with an innate understanding of the real estate process.
"In previous years, I've been involved in marketing and selling the properties, once all the hard work has been done," says Morrison.
"This year I am privileged to see the results of the hard work week by week and then judge these results. Having worked with buyers, you see and hear what they are looking for in a home and what factors are important to them in their purchasing decisions. I'm hoping that my feedback throughout the series will help the teams to achieve the best price possible for their house on auction day."
Founder and director of New Zealand-based interior architecture practice Bonham Interior, Jason Bonham has substantial experience in residential, commercial and educational design in the USA, UK and NZ.
"Kiwi/Pacific style has been a shabby chic, deconstructed, kitsch or industrial look for some time now, and personally I'm ready to see something new, innovative, exciting and unexpected. I hope the teams bring it on!" says Bonham.
MediaWorks has also announced AMP is on board as broadcast sponsor of The Block NZ: Villa Wars, joined by programme partners Honda, Pita Pit and Morepork by Spark. Additional programme partners have been announced as Bayleys, Bosch Power Tools, Dulux, Freedom, Haier, Mico Bathrooms, Peter Hay Kitchens and PlaceMakers.
The yet-to-be announced teams this year will be charged with restoring old villas to their former glory in The Block NZ: Villa Wars.
