Eddard Stark returns to Game of Thrones - report

Sean Bean as Eddard Stark

Eddard Stark looks to be making a comeback in Games of Thrones' sixth season in a flashback, played by 13-year-old actor Sebastian Croft.

According to fan website Watchers on the Wall, "reliable sources" have confirmed that Croft will be taking on the role of a young Ned.

This news has fans excited, sparking rumours that the flashbacks could finally reveal Jon Snow's true parentage. These suspicions are fuelled by the arranged filming location in Spain that looks a lot like the Tower of Joy from George R. R. Martin's books.

The scene will involve young Ned sparring with an older boy, which leads to another fan theory that a young Robert Baratheon will be making an appearance as well.

The casting call sought a young boy with brown hair, a narrow face, green eyes and the use of a northern accent.

Selected theatre actor Croft has performed in London West End productions of Matilda and Les Miserables, as well as playing the role of Oliver Twist in the UK tour of Oliver!.
