Empire co-stars Trai Byers and Grace Gealey are reportedly engaged to be married just months after reports of their off-screen romance surfaced.
Gealey plays Terrence Howard's ex-fiancée on the hit hip-hop drama, while Byers portrays the actor's onscreen son, Andre Lyon, and the two sparked rumours of a romance after attending the wedding of actor Cedric Sanders together.
While neither have confirmed their relationship, sources tell Us Weekly that the co-stars are preparing to tie the knot after Byers reportedly got down on one knee and proposed on her 31st birthday over the weekend.
The insider tells the publication, "He popped the question and she was totally surprised and elated. She can’t stop looking at the ring! They celebrated all night."
The couple reportedly celebrated its engagement and Gealey's birthday with a dinner on Monday night, and Byers took to Instagram to share snaps from the special event.
He added the caption, "Had so much fun celebrating @gracegealey's life!! Happy Birthday to an exquisite human being!... Unforgettable night."
