Man of Steel star Henry Cavill has denied reports he is due to star in the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey sequel.

The actor was rumoured to be starring in the erotic movie franchise's latest instalment, Fifty Shades Darker, as Anastasia Steele's boss Jack Hyde.

When questioned about the rumours by E! this week he said, "Basically, what I can say is I can't say anything about it right now", fuelling the gossip.

However, Cavill told Magic FM over the weekend that he will not be starring alongside Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson in the movie, adding, "It would be a lot of fun to continue this ruse... but I'm not doing it."

His Man From U.N.C.L.E. co-star Armie Hammer then joked, "He's doing it, he's totally doing it, absolutely doing it, he confided in me earlier, I'm sorry to break your trust", but Cavill continued, "Maybe I'm playing the life story of Jamie Dornan, that's where things got confused."
