Janet Jackson's father Joe Jackson has been discharged from a hospital in Brazil after suffering a stroke last month.
The Jackson family patriarch sought medical help at the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo on July 26 after suffering signs of a stroke as he prepared to celebrate his 87th birthday.
He subsequently underwent heart surgery to have a pacemaker fitted after his heart stopped three times, and he was placed in the ICU to recuperate.
On Monday, representatives for the hospital confirmed Jackson had been diagnosed with a stroke associated with cardiac arrhythmia and that his health had improved enough for medical staff to release him.
The news emerges a week after Joe Jackson's representative warned: "So far he's doing OK, but he's not out of the woods yet."
