Rapper Nicki Minaj is set to follow in the footsteps of Kim Kardashian by launching her own smartphone game.

The reality TV star has made an estimated US$20 million from sales of her popular mobile game, Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, and Minaj has now become the latest celebrity to follow suit by teaming with the company behind the game to launch her own version.

The 'Starships' hit maker has signed a deal with bosses at Glu and her first game is set to debut in summer 2016, according to The New York Post.

Details about the app haven't been released yet, but Minaj will definitely be voicing the main character and provide "creative direction".

Other stars who have signed up with Glu include pop singers Britney Spears and Katy Perry, and Hollywood action man Jason Statham.
