Rapper Sean Price dies at 43

Rapper Sean Price of Heltah Skeltah, Boot Camp Clik and Random Axe passed away over the weekend in his Brooklyn apartment.

"It is with beyond a heavy heart that Duck Down Music is sadly confirming that Sean Price passed away early this morning in his Brooklyn apartment, Saturday, August 8th, 2015," his rep said in a statement to E! News.

"The cause of death is currently unknown, but it was reported that he died in his sleep. He's survived by his wife, and his three children."

Musicians and loyal fans took to Twitter to express their condolences and support.

Price's career began as "Ruck", one half of Helta Skelta, alongside Jahmal "Rock" Bush. Their debut Nocturnal  was released in 1996.

The rapper later found success by creating three albums under his own name. He was also part of the well-known Boot Camp Clik.

Price passed away in his sleep, no further details about his death have been released.
