Silence of the Lambs torture house up for sale

The house in Pennsylvania filmed for Silence of the Lambs

The Fayette County, Pennsylvania home that served as sick serial killer Buffalo Bill's lair in thriller Silence of the Lambs is up for sale.

The four-bedroom, Victorian house in on the market for US$300,000.

The old place featured prominently in the 1991 classic as Jodie Foster's FBI Agent Clarice Starling character prowls around the property following a tip-off from incarcerated cannibal Hannibal Lecter that killer Jame Gumb (aka Buffalo Bill) lives there.

The sick murderer, played by Ted Levine, skins his victims to make a human coat.

Fans of the film should note Buffalo Bill's basement, where he imprisoned his victims, was filmed on a soundstage, not at the home.

The realtor selling the place tells the Pittsburgh Tribune Review, the home would make a perfect "horror-themed bed and breakfast".
