Oscar-winning Austrian actor Christoph Waltz has landed a new role as the jury head for the Swiss Filmmaker Award at the 2015 Zurich Film Festival.

The Django Unchained star will help to decide the winner of the US$104,000 prize, which recognises Swiss directors whose projects are in the final stages of production.

Monster's Ball filmmaker Marc Forster will also sit on the panel, alongside festival co-director Karl Spoerri and businessman Georges Kern. They will pick from the four finalists: Jan Gassmann's Europe, She Loves, Dominik Locher's Goliath, Michael Steiner's Tomorrow You'll Be Dead, and Hannes Baumgartner's The Gun Runner.

Waltz will also take part in a keynote conversation event and present a screening of his 2009 Quentin Tarantino movie, Inglourious Basterds.

The 2015 Zurich Film Festival kicks off on September 24  and runs until October 4 .
