Anthony Horowitz is the latest to have his name on the cover of a James Bond novel.
The author says he has tried to write the most authentic Bond novel anyone could have written, and his character is very different to the one in the movies.
"Something about the character somehow seems to sort of survive beyond all these questions of misogyny and misanthropy, or whatever," he says.
"There is something about this sort of crusading man who puts the world to right, but will endure forever… it doesn't seem to matter what they do in the franchise, it always works."
Horowitz is the fourth author to try and reinvent Bond.
