An altercation involving US rapper A$AP Rocky at the Pullman Hotel in Auckland last night resulted in at least one arrest and a hospitalisation.

An eyewitness says the musician was entering an elevator in the hotel with some women around 3am when some men also wanted to get in.

When the rapper said there wasn't enough room, a scuffle broke out, during which a witness reporting the men yelled "F**k A$AP!"

Police have confirmed a 35-year-old man appeared in the Auckland District Court today charged with assault, assault with intent to injure and resisting police, and will reappear in court on March 17.

Police were called to the hotel at approximately 3:15am after reports of the altercation.

Eyewitnesses claim to have seen two people arrested. A member of A$AP Rocky's team was taken to hospital, but soon released, Newshub understands.

The 'F**kin' Problems' hitmaker is due to perform in Sydney tonight following his Auckland show at Vector Arena last night.
