Last night, bachelor Jordan Mauger sent 26-year-old Danielle home from Hawaii, leaving 13 girls vying for his affection.
Mauger prefaced the episode by saying he wanted to up the romance, so he organised a romantic volcano visit.
The 32-year-old chose Fleur to go on the solo date with him, which landed her the first rose of the evening, even with her strange remarks at dinner about her giraffe dropping spitting competitions.
At the group date, a quad-biking adventure, Mauger fashioned some one-on-one time with Gabs, which ended up in an extremely romantic setting -- perfect for the pair to share a kiss.
Gabs may have been walking on sunshine after the perfect evening, but Fleur wasn't so keen -- in fact she was rather perplexed that Mauger could and would kiss two girls within 24 hours, proclaiming she felt "cheap".
This wasn't aided by Ceri's comment: "I'm not going to kiss him if he's kissing 12 other girls… no offence."
And so the drama of the cocktail party began.
The queue continued from the previous evening, the girls possibly worried about making their affections clear before being shipped off.
Naz attempted to steal a kiss from Mauger after reciting a poem, but he rejected her on the grounds of being inappropriate, which was fair enough as it was in front of all the other girls.
Then the biggest bombshell of the night was dropped; Nicole told Mauger she needed to go home, for reasons she didn't want to say.
She said although she was sad to leave the girls, and the competition, she realised her family was most important.
This didn't leave anyone free from elimination, however. Mauger was still to send one person home; Lara was the unlucky one who didn't get the rose.
She didn't seem too phased though. She said to Mauger she didn't think there was any chemistry and the other girls deserved to be there.
"Nice to meet you," she said as she farewelled The Bachelor NZ.
